Our subjects

Our team of specialists is constantly expanding in response to the demand for high quality tutors in popular subject areas. Currently, we offer Primary tuition in all areas, Secondary and GCSE tuition in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Further Maths, Combined Sciences as well as Separate Sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. At A’Level, we offer tuition in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Physics.

11 Plus: Trafford 11 Plus and Independent School Entrance Exam Preparation

 

Our 11 plus and Entrance Exam preparation is overseen and delivered by Primary and Secondary teachers with expertise in the content of these challenging exams. We support children who are working towards the Trafford CEM Consortium Exam that serves Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, Stretford Grammar School, Urmston Grammar School and Sale Grammar School as well as students who are working towards the GL exams that Loreto Grammar School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys use and that Saint Ambrose College base their entrance exam on. 

 

In addition, we support children who are working towards the Entrance Exams for many of the Independent Schools in the area including Cheadle Hulme School, Kings Macclesfield, Manchester Grammar School, Manchester Grammar School for Girls and Withington Girls School, amongst others.

Primary Tuition: Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 provision in Literacy, Numeracy and SATs

At Learn North West we work with specialist primary teachers from early years to KS2. We have a thorough and working knowledge of the National Curriculum and provide tuition which supports children’s progression within the framework of the National Curriculum in schools.

 

Unlike many tuition companies who use set programmes of study using worksheets and computer programmes, our teaching is delivered to meet the individual needs of the child. we use a range of different teaching methods, strategies and resources to support your child’s learning and adjust the pace and focus to suit their needs and help them to thrive with their learning.

Our team have first-hand experience in schools preparing students for external exams and many of our team have additional expertise gained work with the leading examination bodies as examiners. Many of our teachers also hold or have held leadership posts within schools as Heads of Department, Assistant Head Teachers, GCSE progress leaders and Specialist Leaders of Education. As such, our teachers are able to pass on this wealth of knowledge and provide the most up to date and appropriate tuition to all our students who are working towards external examinations.

Supporting students towards SATs, GCSEs, A’ Levels as well as the 11 plus and for Entrance Examinations for Independent Schools, our team have a wealth of expertise and can help children towards these goals.

In 2019 we supported one school improve their SATs Reading results by 17%: 91% of children achieved the expected standard and beyond (18% above the National Average)

and 39% working at the higher standard of greater depth.
