Awards!
February started on a real high for the team at Learn North West as we received an Award from the Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce. To be recognised in a category of such strong local businesses and to receive this commendation was a real honour. We met lots of local businesses and well known people, including Radio DJ, Darren Proctor, who alongside the team at Slater Heelis and members of the Chamber presented us with our award. A huge thank you to everyone involved and for all your support and kind words in response.
After all the excitement of the awards it was back to what we do best and it has been an incredibly busy month.

Congratulations on more Independent School Passes
This month we received confirmation that another of our students has passed for Cheadle Hulme School and he will be starting in September, well done to him and our Helen who supported him.
Altrincham vs. Cancer Fundraising

For the fourth year running we have supported Altrincham HQ's Altrincham vs. Cancer 5K run which brings lots of local businesses together to raise money for The Christie. It was a slightly slower time for us this year with Maria clocking 30 mins for her run. Thank you to everyone who supported us and for all your donations to this worthy cause as well as to Alex McCann who did a terrific job organising the event.
Partner Expansion
It is exciting times for Learn North West as this month we have invited expressions of interest to be made from our tutors who feel ready to be considered for a partnership role in the business.
This is a crucial time for LNW, with the growth of our business it is now time to bring in and involve our tutors in a more integral role in supporting our students, our business and brand. We are looking forward to introducing you to our new team of partners in the coming months and supporting them to make a real impact through their work in continuing and developing the provision that we offer to private students and schools.
Schools
Our work in schools continues to thrive. We are delighted that this month one of our schools is tracking a 26% increase in reading data, a strong indicator that children are on track and improving ahead of their Key Stage 2 SATs in May.
This month we also provided key training in one of our schools to support the preparation of children for the Key Stage 2 SATs. The training was extremely well received and we will be running this again for more of their staff as well as for other schools to attend.
We are delighted to have also been chosen to support outreach work with another local school to provide critical tuition for disadvantaged pupils; we look forward to starting this project in the summer term.
Dyslexia Training
This month Helen and Liz have been accepted to study a year long Foundation Degree with the British Dyslexia Association though Chester University to attain accredited dyslexia teaching status. Both teachers are delighted to have been accepted to study for this qualification and are looking forward to returning to the classroom and learning again themselves. We look forward to sharing their learning experiences through our blogs and our social media throughout the year and putting their learning into practice through our private tuition and school based work.
March
We look ahead now to March and with lots to look forward to this month; we have the first of our Mock Exams for this year's 11+ children, World Book Day this coming Thursday (check our social media for easy costume ideas), Helen has been nominated for another award celebrating local women and their achievements for International Women's Day and we will be making our new partner appointments. Wishing everyone a great month.
