Carlie joined Learn North West during the lockdown; a former colleague of Helen's, we have been delighted to welcome her to our teaching family! She took a little time out to introduce herself in our Q&A.

Name: Carlie Bradley
Qualification: PGCE Primary, BA (Hons) History & English Literature
Q: Describe your experience in education:
A: I've worked as a primary school teacher for 10 years before taking a break to have twins. I've got a wealth of experience throughout KS2, spending many years as a KS2 phase leader. I am passionate about the pupils and subjects I teach thriving on making those all important connections. It’s one of the best feelings in the world to watch a pupil ‘get it’!
Q: Why did you become a teacher?
A: I loved attending school myself and learning, and I chose to become a teacher myself to pass on that love of knowledge. It’s so important to me to foster good relationships with the children in my care and something special to watch them grow as learners.
Q: How do you approach your role as a teacher and tutor?
A: Tutoring gives me the ability to really work towards a more individualised approach and nurture that teacher-pupil relationship. It allows me to spend more time where needed to provide support yet fast-track and provide challenge in other areas when pupil’s excel.
Q: Away from the classroom, what do you enjoy doing?
A: I’m a mum of twins so spend a lot of time out and about exploring the countryside with them! I’m also an avid reader so most often you’ll find me curled up with a book, a cup of tea and a biccie!
Q: Who are you supporting in your role as Associate Tutor at LNW?
A: I’m supporting KS2 pupils in a 1:1 capacity as well as recently starting an 11-plus group. I love the variety that tutoring allows and the creativity that I can approach my sessions with!
Carlie currently teaches on a Wednesday at our classroom in Altrincham and supports one of our Trafford schools with Entrance Exam preparation. To enquire about availability or to join our waiting list, please contact us on: info@learnnorthwest.com
